Password - Creation and Maintenance
Your password should
- have atleast 8 characters and not more than 20 characters
- have atleast one upper case character (A-Z)
- have atleast one lower case character (a-z)
- have atleast one number (0-9)
- have atleast one special character out of these ( ! @ # $ ^ & * )
- NOT have space character
Blacklisted passwords * New
To prevent your account from being compromised, certain passwords that are sequential or can be easily guessed (e.g. Month@Year combinations, TATA@123, Ultimatix!123, etc.) are blacklisted.
The list of blacklisted passwords is not provided here as the same can be misused.
Your understanding and support is appreciated. Please try a different password if the password of your choice is not being accepted.
Note: The blacklist may be updated periodically, so a password you could set earlier may not be allowed later.
Do's and Dont's
To make your password complex, you may also include
- one or more of these special characters ( ! @ # $ ^ & * )
Your password should not be
- Based on personal information, names of family, etc.
- Written down
- Difficult to remember. You could create a password based on a song title, affirmation, or other phrase. [ e.g.,
"myBlueShirt" or better "iWcMuPe10d!", which is short for: "I will change my Ultimatix password every 10 days!".
(Now, don't use this one; start creating your own!)]
Don't reveal your password
- Over the phone to anyone
- In an email message
- To your supervisor(s)
- To family members
- To co-workers while on leave
- In front of others
- On questionnaires or security forms
- With its format (e.g., "my family name")
If you suspect that your password has been compromised, please report the incident to the Ultimatix Helpdesk and change your password immediately.
We may conduct password-cracking exercises (on a periodic or random basis). If your password is cracked during one of
these scans, you will have to change it.
Do not use the "Remember Password" feature provided by any application.
Please ensure that you change your password at least once every 30 days.
